Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has signed the 2021 budget of ₦246 billion into law after it was passed by the state’s House of Assembly.
Eko Hot Blog understands that the state government has passed its annual budget ahead of the financial year in the past four years, thereby becoming the first state to achieve such in Nigeria.
While speaking during the signing of the budget at the executive council chamber of Government House, Governor El-Rufai said 2021 will be used to fully deliver on the government’s campaign promises to the electorate, having lost the most part of 2020 to the coronavirus pandemic and the civil unrest that be deviled parts of the country.

According to him, the budget reflects the government’s resolve to promote equality, accelerate human capital development, and achieve fiscal viability.
The Governor noted that the budget estimate has taken into consideration the economic uncertainties unleashed by the pandemic, thereby assuring that the budget will be implemented to achieve the administration’s commitment to building human capital and infrastructure as well as promoting social welfare.
He thanked the State House of Assembly for the prompt passage of the budget, adding that government will ensure that funds are sourced for effective implementation of the budget.
