Electricity Relief Coming Soon to Ibeju-Lekki with New TCN Substation

Ekohotblog reports that residents of Ibeju-Lekki may soon experience improved electricity supply as plans for a new Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) substation progress.

 

Earlier today, officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources visited the area to inspect potential sites for the construction of a 66MVA substation, featuring two 132/33KV transformers.

The inspection team included Surveyor (Mrs.) Agunbiade, Deputy Directors Engr. Ambali and Engr. Osoba, and Assistant Director Engr. Baruwa. They were joined by the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, as they evaluated various locations for the substation.

 

This development is expected to put an end to the frequent power outages in the area. Once completed, the substation will greatly improve the reliability of electricity, benefiting both homes and businesses in Ibeju-Lekki.

Hon. Olowa expressed optimism about the project, stating, “This substation will provide lasting solutions to the electricity challenges we’ve faced, enhancing the quality of life and supporting local businesses.”

 

The project reflects the ongoing commitment of the Lagos State government and Ibeju-Lekki Local Government to improve infrastructure and expand access to reliable energy for the growing population.
