EKO HOT BLOG reports that Sanusi arrived at Buhari’s residence around 1:00 p.m., accompanied by senior members of the Kano Emirate Council and palace aides. He was received by Aisha Buhari, the late President’s wife, and their son, Yusuf Buhari.
Speaking during the visit, the Emir described Buhari as “a statesman of deep conviction, discipline, and national service,” noting that his leadership left a lasting impact on Nigeria.
“We are here on behalf of the Kano Emirate and the good people of Kano to sympathise with the family and offer our prayers,” Sanusi said. He urged the family to remain steadfast and take solace in the former President’s principled life, which earned him both national and international respect.

Buhari, who first served as Nigeria’s military Head of State from 1983 to 1985 and later as a democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023, died recently after a brief illness. He was laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in line with Islamic rites.
Sanusi’s visit follows a series of condolence visits by traditional rulers and political leaders as the nation mourns the passing of one of Nigeria’s most influential post-independence figures.
