Enugu: Gov Mbah Mourns Igbo Jah, Orders Investigation Into Musician’s Death
Enugu State Governor Dr. Peter Mbah has expressed deep sorrow over the untimely death of popular Ogene musician Chikezie Mba, widely known as Igbo Jah, and has called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
The young musician was reportedly shot by a police officer as he left the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad following what the police described as a “friendly visit.”
Reacting on Saturday, Mbah conveyed his condolences to the musician’s family via social media, emphasizing that he has ordered a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“I received with a deep sense of grief the untimely death of Okezie Mba, popularly known as Igbo Jah, under such a tragic circumstance. This is a huge loss for Ndigbo in general and Ndi Enugu in particular.
“He was one of our own, an Enugu and Igbo talent dedicated to popularizing Igbo culture through his Ogene music.

“I have been briefed by the police and have ordered a thorough investigation to ensure justice for him, his family, and fans worldwide.
