Epe Salutes Late Olu-Epe Oba Adewale Shefiu At 8th-Day Fidau Grand Farewell

Members of Epe community converged at the royal palace of the Olu-Epe of Epe, in commemoration of the 8th-day fidau prayer of the late iconic Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, Bangbopa Eshinlokun I.
EKOHOTBLOG gathered that the late Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM. Oba (Dr.) Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, the Bamgbopa Esinlokun I, passed on Saturday, May 31, 2025, following a brief illness.

The late Oba Olatunji Adewale was buried according to Islamic customs and rites as the royal family, other monarchs, and chieftains rallied around for the interment ceremony at his residence.
Therefore, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, the peace-loving people of Epe community joined Oba Adewale royal family at the royal palace of Epe kingdom to bid their final farewell at his 8th Day Fidau Prayer.
Grand Chief Imam of Epe Division, Sheikh Abdulrhaman Abiola Sadallah, led the Fidauu prayer sermon, reflecting on the personality of late Oba Adewale, highlighting his humility and devotion to Islam.
Also, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, who graced the occasion in honor of Oba Adewale’s golden legacy, also paid glowing tribute.
He particularly stressed the unwavering commitment of Oba Adewale to the peacekeeping of Epe community through his wise leadership and calm approach to challenges.
“When you talk about royal fathers in Lagos State, and we started by describing certain attributes, they’d say, that gentle, easygoing man, that gentle king,’ and then everyone would already guess the king with such attributes…” He said
“He is meek, humble, and calm; he’s not excessively aggressive, he always has a calm demeanor, a cultured personality…” He added
Furthermore, Dr. Hamzat revealed an unknown history that his family shared with the late Olu-Epe, stating that his father and the late Olu-Epe were childhood friends.
“Only Mama (Olori Mulikat) can testify to the fact that the late Oba Adewale and my father attended the same primary school, and when my father had some issues at Kano, he came to our aid.” He revealed.

Therefore, Baba (Oba Adewale) is a burden bearer, and I pray that God, who gifted him with such an excellent personality, will not depart from the Adewale royal household.” He said.
“…there is no one who comes to this world and would not taste death; however, this is a graceful death and one that deserves to be celebrated, but he will be sorely missed.” He concluded.
Olori Mulikat, in an exclusive interview with EKOHOTBLOG, recounted the golden personality of the late Olu-Epe, stating that his most outstanding qualities were gentleness, devotion, cheerfulness, and genuine love for Epe and its people.
