The ethos of unity was rekindled in Epe as traditional rulers grace special Jumaat Service at the ongoing 2022 Kayokayo festival.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that in commemoration of one of the iconic cultural festivals in the Epe Division, the 2022 edition of the Epe Kayokayo Festival exhibited incredible flashes of hope in a bid to consolidate the existing unity and peace amongst several kingdoms in the ancient town.

2021 KAYOKAYO: Princess Surah Olayemi Animasaun Implores Stakeholders To Maintain Values, Creativities And Dynamism Of Kayokayo Festival.
The heartwarming experience was established on the occasion of the Special Jumaat service hosted by the Olu-Epe of Epe Kingdom, Oba Dr Shefiu Adewale on Friday, August 26th 2022 at the First Epe Central Mosque, Oke-Balogun.
According to the Grand Chief Imam of Epe Divison, Fadeelat Sheikh Alhaji AbdulRahmon Abiola Sadala during his sermon which focused on the menace of insecurity and proactive measures to curb them, he disclosed that the royal presence of traditional leaders in the mosque had taken place in a long while.
The above revelation from the Grand Chief Imam of the Division is a testament to the remarkable feat recorded in commemorating the 2022 edition of the Epe Kayokayo Festival.
There’s no doubt about the fact that one of the goals of the Epe Kayokayo Festival is to continually explore credible windows of opportunities to consolidate on the existing peaceful coexistence and communal cohesion which are vital ingredients for rapid growth and development across the Division.
However, the presence of an assemblage of Royal Fathers who graciously honoured the invitation to felicitate the Olu-Epe of Epe has set up the Division on another threshold of history as Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija Kingdom; Oba (Bldr) Aderibigbe Asunmo, Alayandelu of Odo Ayandelu Kingdom; Oba Nelson Ogunlari, Olowu of Owu- Ikosi Kingdom; Oba Dairo Jacob Olutayo, Oladore of Lasore Kingdom, Osun State and Oba Olumuyiwa Ogunbekun, Onilekki of Lekki were all present.
Oba Olusegun Ebenezer, Oloshoroko of Oshoroko; Oba Ayodele Kolawole Aliru, the Alade Uraka of Poka Land; Babatunde Balogun, Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom; Olota of Ota-Ikosi; Oni Ito-Omu of Ito Omu; amongst others also observed the jumaat prayers at the Central Mosque in grand style.
Speaking in an interview with EKO HOT BLOG, the Aladeshonyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija kingdom, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, JP, FMBE, expressed excitement in celebrating the festival with his counterpart, stressing that it was important to leverage the cultural heritage of the Epe people for peace and prosperity.
On his part, the Oba (Bldr) Aderibigbe Asunmo, the Alayandelu of the Odo-Ayandelu kingdom, while reiterating the inevitability of socio-economic advancement through the promotion of rich cultural festivals, offered prayers to God to grant Olu-Epe good health to live long and urged his subjects to support the development plan of the monarch.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that during the reception and entertainment of the Royal Fathers and their wives, the Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, Oba Babatunde Balogun presented the Olu-Epe with cash gifts on behalf of the traditional rulers.
Earlier, it was gathered that the monarchs also celebrated the birth anniversary of the Coordinator of Epe Kayokayo Committee, Otunba TJ Abass having showered encomiums on him for changing the face of the cultural festival.
