Epe LG Boss reacts to Facebook user criticism of staff’s unprofessionalism, assures Epe people of good governance
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Chairman of Epe Local Government, Princess Surah Animashaun, has reacted to the criticism of a Facebook user who called out the council management’s incompetencies on his social media page.
She also assured the good people of Epe of her resolve to address issues surrounding the incompetence in the discharge of the duties and responsibilities of staffers in the Local Council.

The Facebook user, Folami Jubril, has expressed his disappointment at a staff of the local council for disseminating vital information regarding the staff verification exercise which was hand-written and posted on the council’s notice board without being signed.
Jubril claimed that he had visited the local council secretariat for some transactions and was irked by the development, asking why the LG Chairman, council-manager and other senior staffers allowed such.
He, therefore, wondered if the local council was broke or was a lack of professionalism by the civil service.
Reacting to this in a statement made available to EKO HOT BLOG, the Chairman opined that though it was imperative to constructively criticise the service delivery of others, she decried when such criticisms are conclusive rather than correctional and thereby losing its potency.
Princess Surah, who is not oblivious of the fact that errors can be made, argued further that her administration is such that gives workers a level playing ground to excel in the Local Council as it is constituted by personnel from different backgrounds.
While she stated categorically that it was outrageous to hinge the gross performance indicators of her sterling administration through such costly and regrettable error, she assured that her progressive and accountable leadership would be more proactive in serving the good people of Epe with high standards.
The statement read, “The importance of constructive criticism – valid and well-reasoned opinions about work being done by others – cannot be over-emphasised especially when it is correctional rather than conclusive. Anything else short of this stands the risk of losing its well-meaning intent.
“The members of staff of the Epe local government are made up of people from different walks of life as we believe in giving everyone a fair chance to work and prove themselves irrespective of their educational, professional backgrounds or exposure. This provides ample opportunity to develop themselves. But in doing so, we must also realise that there’d be a few slip-ups.
“To overlook pre-existing good works or stellar performances and sum up the entirety of an administration by the blunder, oversight or unprofessionalism of a few will be nothing short of unfair.
“Nevertheless, all encounters or occurrences that discount the true reflection and competency of this administration will be promptly addressed and rectified.
“This administration is a progressive and accountable one and we appreciate feedback that seeks to hold us to the highest standards by pointing out where we can do better. Together, we can achieve greater!”
