Epe Local Government on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, commenced its Three-Day 2026 Budget Retreat with the theme “Budget of Manifestation Under the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Eko Hot Blog reports that the opening session gathered management staff and key stakeholders to begin discussions aimed at producing a realistic, people-centred, and development-driven budget for the 2026 fiscal year.

In her welcome address, the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, described the retreat as a crucial step in strengthening the council’s budgeting system and improving service delivery.

She explained that the 2026 budget must reflect the true needs and aspirations of the people of Epe while aligning with national priorities under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Hon. Animashaun said “this retreat is designed to deepen our understanding of modern budgeting approaches, enhance internal control processes, and reinforce transparency and accountability.”
She added that the ultimate goal is to produce a Budget of Manifestation that translates into tangible development and improved welfare for residents.
She commended officials and participants for their dedication, urging them to contribute meaningfully throughout the retreat sessions to achieve a strong, inclusive financial plan.
The retreat will run for three days, after which a harmonized budget estimate will be prepared and forwarded to the Epe Legislative Council for consideration and approval.
