Building Resilient Cities for a Sustainable Future,” and attracted government officials, market leaders, community stakeholders, teachers, pupils, and environmental health practitioners.
The initiative formed part of the ongoing efforts of the administration of the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, FHTI, to promote environmental stewardship and encourage residents to play active roles in protecting the environment.
Representing the Chairman at the event, the Vice Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment for all residents of Epe.

He urged residents to adopt environmentally friendly habits, including proper waste disposal, tree planting, and the protection of public spaces.
The event featured the planting of trees at designated locations as a symbolic demonstration of the local government’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action.
Other dignitaries present at the programme included the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Rahmon Saheed; the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Yusuff Samsideen; councillors;
Iyalojas and Babalojas from various markets across Epe; members of the Community Development Committee (CDC) Executive; teachers; pupils; and officials of the Environmental Health Services Department.
