EPL: Salah Fires Liverpool To Top Of Table In Wolves Win
Salah’s second-half spot-kick secured the win after Ibrahima Konate opened the scoring for Liverpool, only for Wolves’ Rayan Ait Nouri to equalize.
Arne Slot’s side have now won five of their six league matches this season, placing them one point ahead of second-place Manchester City, who drew 1-1 with Newcastle earlier in the day.

Despite Slot downplaying Liverpool’s title chances earlier this week, the Dutchman has made a significant impact in the early stages of the post-Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield.
Following a shock home defeat to Nottingham Forest, the Reds have bounced back with four consecutive wins across all competitions.
Liverpool fans, packed into one end of Molineux, loudly chanted Slot’s name as the clock ticked down on another impressive victory.
At 46, Slot has already orchestrated one of the best managerial starts in Liverpool’s history. If the team keeps up this form, it will be hard for even him to dismiss their title ambitions.
The only setback for Slot was a late injury to Andrew Robertson, who was forced to limp off, raising concerns about the Scottish left-back’s fitness.
“The first 20 minutes weren’t great. It was a real tough start for us but eventually we took control of the game and scored the first goal,” Slot said.
“Wolves have a really good game plan for every opponent and it was the same for us. It’s always nice to win, especially away.”
Liverpool, who last lifted the Premier League trophy in 2020, will face Bologna in their second Champions League match on Wednesday before heading to Crystal Palace next weekend.

Meanwhile, Wolves, currently winless and at the bottom of the table, were further weakened by a virus that swept through their squad this week.
Despite their challenging situation, Gary O’Neil’s team put up a spirited performance in the first half. Matheus Cunha’s curling shot tested Liverpool’s Alisson Becker upon his return from injury.
However, it was Wolves’ goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, who made a stunning save, denying Dominik Szoboszlai’s close-range attempt from a cross by Andrew Robertson.
