Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has signed with French based agency Wilders Sport, ending his professional relationship with long time representative Abraham Sidibe.
The 48 year old Franco Malian announced the development on his Instagram page on Wednesday, bringing to a close a partnership that was instrumental in his appointment as Nigeria’s national team coach in January 2025.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Chelle’s profile has risen significantly over the past year after guiding the Super Eagles to a third place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. The achievement helped restore confidence around the national team and strengthened his reputation within African football circles.
His performance at the tournament reportedly attracted interest from several African football federations.
Explaining his decision, Chelle told British Nigerian journalist Osasu Obayiuwana of The Guardian, “It is time for me to take myself to another level. I felt that this agency will give me the required support and advice that I need to do this.”
Wilders Sport maintains a strong presence in French football and represents players across various tiers of the league system. Chelle’s move has fuelled speculation about his long term ambitions, particularly in France.
He has recently been linked with Olympique de Marseille, who are searching for a new manager following the departure of Roberto De Zerbi earlier this month by mutual agreement.

Although no formal approach has been confirmed, Chelle’s name has featured among potential candidates. For now, he remains under a two year contract with Nigeria and is focused on building on the momentum generated at AFCON as the Super Eagles prepare for upcoming fixtures.
