Euro 2020: Ramos Reacts To His Exclusion From Spain Team

Ramos will miss this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos has struggled with injuries throughout the 2020/21 season and that has resulted in him not being named in Luis Enrique’s latest squad.

It’s the first time Ramos – who has 180 caps to his name for Spain – has missed a major international tournament since Euro 2004.

There are no Real Madrid players in his squad and Enrique has left two spaces unoccupied, even with Ramos not making the cut.

“It was a very difficult decision but Ramos has not been able to compete or train very much recently,” Enrique told reporters.

Ramos has now reacted to the news of his omission with a tweet which shows that he has accepted the fact that he will be absent in this summer’s UEFA Euros.

But despite the 35-year-old’s omission, La Roja’s squad for this summer’s blockbuster footballing event is pretty strong.

Manchester City Aymeric Laporte has made the cut, with the center-back recently switching international allegiance, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

Wolves’ flying winger Adama Traore will also be part of his country’s plans for Euro 2020, along with Barcelona’s teenage sensation, Pedri.

Defenders: Aymeric Laporte, Jordi Alba, Jose Gaya, Pau Torres, Eric Garcia, Diego Llorente, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Llorente

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Pedri, Thiago, Koke, Fabian Ruiz

Forwards: Dani Olmo, Mikel Oyarzabal, Alvaro Morata, Gerard Moreno, Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, Pablo Sarabia
