EKO HOT BLOG reports that Governor Fintiri described the late Mustapha as a man of service, dignity, and duty whose remarkable contributions to the country and the people of Adamawa will remain unforgettable.
“Deeply saddened by the passing of Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Mustapha, former CG of Customs. A man of service, dignity and duty whose legacy will live on. My prayers are with Lamido Adamawa, the Mustapha royal family and all who mourn him. May Allah grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” Fintiri wrote.
Mustapha began his career in the Nigeria Customs Service as a cadet officer and steadily rose through the ranks. In 1999, he was appointed Comptroller-General of Customs, a position he held until December 2003 when he retired after more than three decades of active service.
His tenure was marked by intensified anti-smuggling operations and his involvement in several national task forces set up to combat economic sabotage. In recognition of his dedication, he received the Ministerial Award for Outstanding Performance in 1988.
Beyond his professional career, Mustapha was also deeply rooted in tradition. He was the elder brother of the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Aliyu Mustapha, and held the prestigious title of Sardauna of Adamawa.

Until his passing, he remained an influential figure within the Customs community and a respected voice in the Adamawa Emirate.
