The Secretary, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (Rtd) in a statement released on Tuesday, clarified that while Presidential approval has been granted for recruitment into the four paramilitary services under its supervision, the actual recruitment exercise has not yet commenced.

The Board stressed that all genuine recruitment announcements would be made through national newspapers and other verified platforms and that no fees would be required at any stage of the process.
The statement read, “The attention of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has been drawn to a letter in circulation on social media with respect to its recruitment process.

“It is important to inform the general public that, though there is Presidential approval for the recruitment of personnel in the four paramilitary services under its purview, there are a series of processes which lead to the actual recruitment exercise.
“The Board wishes to reiterate that for all its recruitment processes, appropriate notifications will be made via adverts in the national dailies, and the process will be carried out fairly and transparently, with no payment of any fee.
“Members of the public were urged to ignore the fake letter and remain vigilant against the activities of recruitment racketeers targeting unsuspecting citizens.
