This incident follows a similar fire disaster in Aba, Abia State, where three radio stations—Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM—were gutted by a blaze in early October. The fire, which started at Enyimba TV and Radio Limited’s television section, destroyed valuable broadcasting equipment but caused no loss of life.

Enyimba TV and Radio Limited has since suspended operations at the affected stations for damage assessment and to implement preventive measures.
