Five Feared Dead As Tanker Explodes In Ogun

- Five persons have been reported dead in a tanker explosion in Ogun State.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that no fewer than five persons have been confirmed dead in a tanker explosion that occurred in Ogun State.
It was gathered that the explosion occurred at the Ajilete axis of the Owode-Idiroko Road on Wednesday.
The incident was said to have occurred when a fuel-laden tanker was descending the sloppy road in the area but suddenly had its tank fell off and went up in flames.
An eyewitness disclosed that the tanker was reportedly carrying 33,000 litres of diesel when the explosion occurred in Ogun State on Wednesday.
It was learnt that the explosion killed five persons on the spot while two others were injured.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the explosion was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Corps Commander, Idiroko Unit, Akinwunmi Olaluwoye, noting that the incident occurred at about 8:15am.
Olaluwoye noted that five persons were burnt to death, adding that a bus and a motorcycle were equally razed in the explosion.
The unit commander further disclosed that the corpses of the victims have been taken over by the family members.
“No vehicle rammed into the tanker. The tank dropped off from the back of the tanker and exploded. The number of persons involved is seven, five dead, two injured.
“The driver had taken away the head of the truck as at the time we got there. We have allowed the police to take charge and handle that aspect,” Olaluwoye said.
