EKO HOT BLOG reports that the crash, which occurred on Thursday night, was severe enough to cause multiple injuries and significant damage to the vehicle.
Investigations are still underway, though authorities suspect that speeding and reckless driving may have played a role. FRSC Sector Commander Maxwell Lede confirmed the incident in a preliminary report released on Friday.
He stated that the driver, Muhammad Mandir Yusuf, operating a truck with the registration number NSK523ZY, was transporting 32 people along with cows at the time of the accident.
Although no fatalities were recorded, emergency services responded promptly, transporting the injured to local hospitals. The crash also disrupted traffic: the outward service lane connecting the Secretariat to the expressway was affected, and the left lane near the roundabout under the flyover was partially obstructed, leading to temporary closures.
