Flood: Emergency Director, Team Trapped During Rescue Mission in Borno

Barkindo Mohammed, the Director General of the Borno State Emergency Management Agency, has described the flooding situation in Maiduguri as “terrible.”

He reported that he and some of his colleagues, who were on a rescue mission, are currently trapped by the flood.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the collapse of the Alau Dam early Tuesday morning has led to extensive flooding, submerging various wards in Maiduguri. Thousands of displaced residents are seeking safer locations.
