Former PA, Tyrese Haspil Sentenced to 40 Years for Brutal Murder of Boss, Fahim Saleh
Tyrese Haspil, the former personal assistant convicted of murdering and dismembering his tech entrepreneur boss, Fahim Saleh, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Haspil, 25, was found guilty in June of murder, grand larceny, and other charges related to Saleh’s death in 2020.
Prosecutors revealed that Haspil, who was employed by Saleh, the founder of the Nigerian ride-hailing motorcycle startup Gokada, began embezzling funds from his boss’s businesses.

Although Haspil resigned a year later, he continued to steal money even after Saleh discovered the theft and allowed him to repay it over two years to avoid criminal charges.
Fearing that Saleh would uncover his continued theft, Haspil decided to kill him. On July 13, 2020, Haspil, dressed in a black suit and mask, followed Saleh into the elevator of his luxury Manhattan apartment building. Once the elevator doors opened to Saleh’s apartment, Haspil stunned him with a Taser, then fatally stabbed him.
The following day, Haspil returned to the apartment to dismember Saleh’s body with an electric saw. However, he left to buy a charger when the saw’s battery ran out. During Haspil’s absence, Saleh’s cousin arrived and discovered the dismembered body.

Haspil was arrested by police days later.
In a statement, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said, “Today, Tyrese Haspil is being held accountable for the brutal murder and dismemberment of Fahim Saleh, a kind, generous, and compassionate individual who made a positive impact on the world.”
Bragg added, “Even after Haspil stole from him to fund a lavish lifestyle, Saleh gave him a second chance. While today’s sentence won’t bring Mr. Saleh back, I hope it offers some measure of closure to his family as they continue to mourn his loss.”
