France national team coach Didier Deschamps has named Kylian Mbappe in his 26 man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled to take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Deschamps, who led France to World Cup glory in 2018, announced the squad on Thursday ahead of what will be his final tournament in charge of Les Bleus.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Mbappe is expected to captain the French side despite concerns over a thigh injury suffered last month during Real Madrid’s La Liga campaign. The injury forced the forward to miss several important matches, but he has now been included in the squad for the tournament in North America.
France will head into the World Cup with one of the strongest attacking lineups in the competition. The squad includes Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Paris Saint Germain youngster Desire Doue, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise and Manchester City midfielder Rayan Cherki.
Cherki is set to make his World Cup debut after impressing during his first season with Manchester City.
Arsenal defender William Saliba was also included as Deschamps looks to strengthen his defensive options for the tournament.
Mbappe, Dembele, Lucas Hernandez and N’Golo Kante are the only players remaining from the France squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
