Vice President Kashim Shettima has assured that the Federal Government will duly honour the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, who was killed alongside other military personnel by Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Shettima gave the assurance on Wednesday during his visit to Birnin Kebbi, where he met with state officials and families affected by the recent abduction of schoolgirls in the area.

The Vice President said the nation remains indebted to the late senior officer and his colleagues who paid the supreme price in defence of Nigeria.
“We also honour the ultimate sacrifice made by some of our brave officers. To the family of the late Brigadier General Musa Uba, we say his sacrifice will never be forgotten,” he said.

Shettima added that any soldier who dies in the line of duty touches “a part of our collective soul,” stressing that the government will continue to support the families of fallen heroes and recognise their courage.
He also condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, describing it as “an assault on the conscience of all Nigerians.”
The Vice President noted that the country has witnessed a troubling rise in terrorist attacks in recent weeks, with several kidnappings and killings reported across different regions.
