Fire service spokesman Bernhard Peschke confirmed that several of the injured were in serious or life-threatening condition.
Local media identified the car as a Mini Cooper, which reportedly drove into a group of striking workers from the Verdi union. Ambulances quickly arrived at the scene, where one person was seen being loaded onto a stretcher.

Munich police detained the driver of the vehicle, stating that the individual no longer posed a threat. The scene, close to the city’s historic center, was scattered with personal items including shoes, glasses, and a pushchair.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with one worker telling local media he saw someone trapped under the car. Another witness reported that police shot at the car’s window before detaining the driver.
