It was a deluge of summer rain for the families of His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdul Aderibigbe Asunmo and Alhaji Hassan Adekunle, as their progenies, Mariam Aderinsola Omolade and Soliudeen Adeoniye Babatunde sealed matrimonial rites in a grand ceremony in Lagos.
The event, which held at the Alayandelu Community Palace, Odo-Ayandelu, Ikosi Ejirin, Via Epe, Lagos State, was a culmination of engagement rites which held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, and played host to first class dignitaries drawn across Lagos State, Ogun State, and beyond.
The officiating Imam, Sheik AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef, in his brief exhortation to the couple, admonished them to cast the foundation of their union on the time-proven tenets and the unfathomable wisdom of God. He also enjoined the couple to embrace love, perseverance, longsuffering, tolerance and forgiveness as the bedrock to ensuring a long and fruitful union.
As customary in the Yoruba culture, the bride and groom’s parents, accompanied by friends, families, well-wishers announced their arrival into the wedding reception venue in an elegant, exquisite and resplendent procession, befitting of a royal family.

The Bride’s father, Oba Adekunle Asunmo, Jamade II, Alayandelu of Odo-Ayandelu kingdom, said the union has made him a fulfilled father. He disclosed how arduous it was to raise a female child, and advised the couple to build their union on love and respect and seek God’s guidance in moments of adversity.
