Google is all set to launch a programme called: “Come Chop Belleful, A Taste Of Nigeria” at the Pan Atlantic University in order to recognize the uniqueness of Nigerian delicacies.
Hosted by Yemisi Odusanya, popularly known as Sisi Yemmie, the programme will focus on digitally capturing and showcasing the cultural and historical expressions of the Nigerian nation as a way to inform and educate the world about the wealth of creative and human resources the country has.
Speaking via a press release, Sisi Yemmie said that the project is opening the doors to foodies and lovers of culture from across the globe and helping them experience Nigerian cooking culture for themselves.
“Whether your choice is to order delicious street food, referred to as pot cooking, visiting one of the many markets boasting local produce of the highest order, or simply visiting a local home for an authentic dinner, (naturally eaten by hand (yes, even the soup!)), the options open to foodies are many,” she said.
Continuing, she said that “there is a misconception that culture is being lost to modernisation. We never lose our culture; it just advances with social and technological evolution. Our culture defines who we are as a people and inspires others to understand us better.
“Our characteristics and knowledge as a people is visible through our language, religion, social habits, music, art and food.
