Gospel Singer Dele Gold Laid to Rest in Lagos (PHOTOS)

Popular Nigerian gospel singer Dele Agbeyo, known professionally as Dele Gold, has been laid to rest.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Gold passed away on September 11 after a brief illness. His burial ceremony took place at his residence in Abule Egba, Lagos, and was attended by prominent figures.

Notable attendees included Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun and gospel singer Genesis. Family and friends gathered to pay their last respects during the lying-in-state.

Abimbola Otusanya, a colleague from DAAR Communications, described him as a “generous giver” during the ceremony. She shared how he supported her during difficult times.

“He was a friend and brother to all of us at DAAR,” Otusanya said. “Throughout his time with us, he was always there. He even lent us his equipment at times. Personally, he helped me in 2017 when I had surgery and needed to travel to Ibadan. Dele provided me with a car at no cost.”

The officiating cleric noted that the singer “never charged to perform at churches.” He emphasized, “Dele Gold made a significant impact with God. He never accepted payment for his performances, using all he had to serve.”

Gold’s children and wife were present as the singer was laid to rest. Known as The Miliki Gospel King, he hailed from Usi, Ekiti State, but grew up in Faforiji, Osun State.
