The review, which takes effect from January, aligns with the state’s minimum wage of ₦80,000. Onyishi explained that the increase was driven by the rising cost of living and the national minimum wage increase to ₦70,000, alongside Governor Mbah’s decision to raise Enugu’s minimum wage to ₦80,000.

The decision followed a memo dated November 25, 2024, from the Governor’s Special Adviser on Legal Matters, Mr. Osinachi Nnajieze. In response, Governor Mbah graciously approved the salary adjustments.
