- Governor Fayemi has suspended Ekiti College Provost.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has suspended the Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Ijero-Ekiti, Dr. Cecilia Adebayo, on Thursday.
The Provost was suspended by Governor Fayemi over the controversial fumigation in the school, which led to hospitalisation of over 100 students.
This was made known in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, on Thursday.
The statement was titled, ‘EKSG suspends CHST provost as state launches investigation into controversial exercise that landed over 100 students in hospital’.
Governor Fayemi noted that the suspension was pending the outcome of an investigation into the exercise.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that Governor Fayemi also directed that the medical bills of the affected students be taken over by the state government.
The governor further constituted an eight-member panel headed by the commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, to investigate the incident and report back to him in two weeks.
Governor Fayemi listed the names of other members of the panel as the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye; and her Environment counterpart, Princess Iyabo Fakunle-Okhiemen.
Others include the Director-General, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Prof. Bolaji Aluko; Director, State Fire Services, Mr. Samuel Omoniyi; Prof. Isola Olomola; Mrs. Dupe Ogundipe; and the Director, Special Duties, Cabinet Office, Mr. Isaac Okeowo, who will serve as Secretary to the panel.
