Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has once again demonstrated his commitment to empowering artisans and tradesmen by fulfilling a promise made during the 12th graduation ceremony of Lagos Artisans.
Ekohotblog gathers that in line with his administration’s dedication to enhancing productivity, Governor Sanwo-Olu, through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, donated a brand-new bus to the Lagos State Council of Tradesmen and Artisans (LASCOTA).
The handover ceremony, which took place in Lagos, was a moment of pride and fulfillment for many, as the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, affectionately called Aji-Gbo-Ti-Egbe by the Governor, officially presented the bus key to the President of LASCOTA, Engr. Lawrence Ajayi.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ajigbotafe emphasized the government’s support for artisans, acknowledging their vital role in the state’s economic growth.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu has always prioritized capacity building and economic empowerment.
This donation is just one of many initiatives aimed at ensuring that artisans and tradesmen in Lagos State have the resources they need to thrive,” he said.
The President of LASCOTA, Engr. Lawrence Ajayi, expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, describing it as a game-changer for the association.
“This bus will greatly enhance our operations, making it easier to coordinate our activities and reach more members.
Governor Sanwo-Olu is indeed a leader who keeps his promises, and we are grateful for his continuous support,” he remarked.
Artisans present at the event also lauded the Governor’s commitment to their welfare. Mrs Adebayo, a fashion designer, stated, “This is not just about a bus; it is about a government that recognizes our contributions and is willing to invest in us. We feel valued and motivated to do more.”
