Governor Sanwo-Olu Pledges to Boost Food Security In Lagos

Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised to increase food security and infrastructure development from 18 percent to over 50 percent.

During a visit to the Lagos Central Food Security Park in Epe, he confirmed the first phase will be completed by mid-2025.

Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted the hub’s role in reducing food waste, stabilizing prices, and improving supply chains.

He also announced plans to set up similar market hubs in Ajah, Agege, Oregun, and Ikorodu, following the success of the Idi-Oro hub.

Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu visited Wesley School for the Deaf in Surulere, where she spoke to students about child protection and the government’s focus on vulnerable children, including those with disabilities.

She praised the school’s staff for their dedication to educating children with hearing impairments.

Surulere Chairman Bamidele Sulaiman reaffirmed his commitment to policies protecting children, women, and vulnerable groups.

He also pledged to raise awareness about gender-based violence and promote a society free from abuse and discrimination.
