Gunmen Kill Police Inspector in Borno Attack
In the early hours of Sunday, unknown gunmen launched an attack on the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area, Borno State, resulting in the death of a police inspector.
According to Eko Hot Blog, Nahum Kenneth, the state Police Public Relations Officer noted that the gunmen tried to infiltrate the police parameters, but efforts of the Police Mobile Force attached to the police station in Jakana repelled the gunmen who attempted to overrun them.
Kenneth indicated that it was premature to determine if the attackers were Boko Haram terrorists.
“Right now, we can only classify them as gunmen because their anonymity is yet to be unravelled,” he stated.
