BREAKING: Gunmen Disrupt Sunday Service, Shoot Prophet Dead In Ogun

It was tragic on Sunday at the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Eagle Parish, Idiroko, in Ogun State as a 54-year-old prophet, Yomi Adetula, was attacked and killed during a church service.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the incident, which occurred at around 10:30 AM on Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko, involved three gunmen who targeted the prophet, shooting him multiple times and inflicting a fatal head injury with an axe to ensure he was dead.
Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the event in a statement, detailing that the victim’s lifeless body, clad in a bloodstained white celestial garment, was found at the scene.
“Police officers raced to the scene and observed that the victim, Yomi Adetula, had suffered bullet wounds, and his head was mangled with an axe. Witness accounts revealed that three men entered the church, aimed a double-barrel gun at the deceased, and fired before fleeing the scene,” Odutola stated.
The prophet’s body has been deposited at the General Hospital Morgue in Ilaro, and investigations into the attack have commenced. The police confirmed that efforts to apprehend the assailants, who escaped into the border area, are ongoing.
“Normalcy has been restored, and possible clues will emerge as investigations progress,” the police spokesperson added.
