The Adamawa State Government has confirmed that the 𝕏 (formerly Twitter) account of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has been compromised by hackers.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that this was made known in a statement on Sunday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, who cautioned the public against engaging with or trusting any content from the affected handle.
“Unfortunately, the account has been compromised by hackers, and any content posted from it does not represent the views or statements of the Governor or his representatives,” the statement read.
Wonosikou assured that the state government has launched an investigation into the incident and is working with relevant authorities to recover the account and secure it from further misuse.
He also expressed regret over the situation, stating that the Governor is deeply concerned about the confusion and embarrassment caused by the unauthorised activity on his social media account.
“We are working diligently to recover the account and restore its integrity. The Governor regrets any embarrassment or inconvenience caused by the actions of the hackers,” he said.
The government further urged the public to rely solely on the state’s verified channels and the Press Office of the Governor for any official announcements or updates going forward.
Until the account is fully restored, residents are advised to disregard all messages or statements posted from it.
