Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has urged Muslims to draw inspiration from the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and embrace virtues like honesty, perseverance, and patience to create a more prosperous Nigeria.
Speaking at the Maolud Nabiyyi Celebration, where he was conferred with the Beacon of Islam (Peace) award, Hamzat emphasized the importance of learning from the Prophet’s behavior and attitude, including honesty, service to humanity, and patience.
He encouraged Muslims to be their brother’s keepers by supporting and caring for fellow Muslims and non-Muslims in their community who may be struggling, and to pray for the leadership of the country as the situation in the country is overwhelming.

Hamzat also commended the Lagos State Central Mosque for recognizing his contributions and urged Muslims to exhibit good character, have exemplary behavior, and serve as role models.
Earlier, the Baba Adinnu of Lagos, Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy, stated that the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday is a way to honor his legacy and teachings, which extend beyond the day itself and influence daily life and spiritual growth.
Sheikh Muyedeen Ajani Bello, in his lecture, emphasized the importance of emulating the Prophet’s teachings and virtues, such as truthfulness, righteousness, peace, honesty, and service to humanity, to create a positive impact on humanity and build a society founded on love, truth, and peace.
