Ekohotblog reports that Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, presented the 2024 supplementary budget during a meeting at the Council’s Legislative Chambers.
The budget, titled “Budget of Developmental Growth, Fiscal Sustainability, and Wealth Creation,” aims to promote growth and development in the community despite current economic difficulties.

In his speech, Hon. Olowa expressed his appreciation for the hard work of everyone involved, including the Executive arm, the Legislature, and the Management Staff.
“Thank you all for your commitment. We will continue to focus on what’s best for our citizens, even during these challenging times,” he said.
The supplementary budget focuses on improving key areas such as the environment, education, and infrastructure.
“We are working on environmental sustainability by introducing garbage collection tricycles (keke jaja), which are already in operation.
We have also provided scholarships and bursaries to help our students succeed,” Hon. Olowa explained.
He highlighted the administration’s efforts to invest in infrastructure, noting the ongoing construction of the Executive and Legislative buildings as a sign of their dedication to achieving their main goals.
The presentation was attended by notable officials, including the Legislative Leader, Hon. Mojeed Olayinka, all Council legislators, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale Adebanjo, the Council Manager, Mr. Oladipupo Otinwa, and other Heads of Departments and staff.
This supplementary budget is expected to enhance development in Ibeju-Lekki and address the community’s needs while fostering sustainable growth.
