House Of Representatives Member Sponsors Bill That Make Citizens Eligible To Carry Arms From 18 Years Of Age
Following the threat of insecurity in the country, the house of representatives have put a move towards granting citizens permit to carry arms as a means of self defence in the country.
It was emphazised that from the age of 18 and above, one has full right to do so, Eko hot blog gathered.
The bill, which is yet to be passed with a title called firearms Amendment Bill, which is sponsored by a member of the house of representatives, Honourable Adejoro Adeogun, representing the Akoko Southeast and southwest constituency of Ondo state.
In the bill, it is stated that any individual who applies for an arm must reach the following conditions

- A psychological evaluation certificate issued by a government hospital of not late than six months

A vision clearance certificate of not late than six months

A police clearance certificate of not late than twelve months

A firearm proficiency certificate of not later than six months
Also, a National Identity Number issues by the commission.
