“I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It’s not something I planned. It happened on that day and it happened,” Ajayi said.

The suspect accused Salome of cheating on him, citing messages he discovered on her phone.

“She hides most of the things from me. I saw her chats with other guys, and that was why I decided,” he claimed.

Ajayi, who is currently in the custody of the Nasarawa State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Lafia, expressed no remorse.

“I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. You must understand what the other person is going through,” he added.

When questioned on how he was caught he proudly stated that he gave himself up and wasn’t caught.

“I was not caught I surrendered myself” He revealed, “If I didn’t want anybody to catch me I would have done that, its very simple.”

The victim, Salome Adaidu, was a graduate of Kogi State University and was serving with Nicon Insurance in Abuja.

She had reportedly visited Ajayi at his residence in the Papalana area of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, before the tragic incident occurred.

The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public that justice will be served. Speaking on the case, Police Public Relations Officer SP Ramhan Nansel said, “Investigation is ongoing, and upon conclusion, the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution. I want to assure the family and the public that this suspect will not be spared if found guilty.”

Nansel urged anyone with additional complaints or evidence against Ajayi to come forward to aid the investigation.

The tragic death of Salome has left her family and friends devastated, sparking outrage and calls for justice across the country.

Esther Adaidu, the Victims Sister has called for justice stating that the loss is very heavy for her and her family to bare.

“The deceased is my younger sister and I feel very bad because we didn’t just losing a person in my home I lost a sister, my mom lost a daughter” She said, “I demand I need justice to be served.”
