I Will Never Defame Uncle Femi Falana – Verydarkman
Social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has refuted defamation allegations made against renowned human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN.
In an Instagram video, Verydarkman expressed his deep respect for Falana, whom he referred to as his uncle.
This comes after Nigerian rapper Falz threatened legal action against Verydarkman for accusations linking him and his father, Femi Falana, to a voice recording connected to a controversial bribery scandal involving crossdresser Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Verydarkman’s attorney, Deji Adeyanju, has issued a response, clarifying that VDM merely questioned the legitimacy of Bobrisky’s claims in the leaked audio and had no intention to defame Femi Falana.

In a statement, Adeyanju said, “We represent Mr. Martins Vincent Otse, now referred to as our client, who received your letter dated September 25, 2024, regarding the alleged defamation.
Our client denies defaming Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, a respected Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a globally recognized human rights activist.
He asserts that he published the communication to prompt relevant agencies, including your client, to initiate a comprehensive investigation into the serious allegations made by Mr. Okuneye in the voice recording, some of which have been acknowledged by Mr. Folarin Falana in his letter dated September 25, 2024.”
Adeyanju stressed that the focus should be on investigating the allegations Bobrisky made against certain EFCC officers instead of pursuing a defamation claim.

“Our client holds Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, in high regard and appreciates his dedication to safeguarding human rights and the rule of law in Nigeria.
Therefore, our client believes that the best course of action is to conduct an interagency investigation into the allegations in the voice recording rather than pursuing a defamation case,” he stated.
In a separate Facebook post, Adeyanju advised Falz to address his concerns directly with Bobrisky. “For Falz: he should go and speak with Bob about everything he/she said. Falz even admitted to having a phone call with Bob. End of discussion.”
