Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria has sworn Haruna Yahaya as its 61st president.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that Yahaya was sworn in on Tuesday at the investiture ceremony held at the ICAN head office in Lagos.

He succeeds the 60th president of the Institute, Davidson Alaribe.
Alaribe in his valedictory speech, said ICAN expanded its footprint across Nigeria during his time in office.
According to him, the professional body opened 26 District Societies and 24 of these were inaugurated.
In his earlier statement published on the body’s platforms, Alaribe said, “The progress we recorded over the past twelve months would not have been possible without your steadfast support, encouragement, and commitment.
“As we look to the future with renewed hope and purpose, I remain confident in ICAN’s capacity for greater impact, relevance, and global leadership.”
The event was graced by the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Accountant-General of the state, Dr. Abiodun Muritala.
Other notable dignitaries at the event include the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Aminu Usman; the Attorney General of Jigawa State, Abdulqadir Fanini; and the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, Dr Rabiu Olowo.
Also on the occasion were the President of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Zuwaira Kishimi, and the President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Professor Pius Olanrewaju, amongst others.
