- Fayose also hinted at the possibility of joining the 2023 presidential race…
EKO HOT BLOG reports that former Governor of Ekiti State and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ayo Fayose, has said that the Nigerians will have to choose to remain perpetual poverty or save themselves come 2023.
Fayose disclosed this while sharing his thoughts on the recently concluded PDP governorship primary in Ekiti State.
According to the former governor, the kind of leadership Nigeria has witness since 2015 in the handling of the country’s economy and security, it is the masses that are on the receiving end.

“If PDP does not win the 2023 election, then Nigerians are doomed. From what I have seen since 2015, Nigerians are doomed. The kind of leadership that Nigeria has witnessed – insecurity, the economy – don’t forget that the impact of these things is more felt by the masses.
“The cost of diesel today is about ₦400 per litre; during President Goodluck Jonathan’s (PDP) time, it was ₦140, ₦145. Whatever we are saying, it is either Nigerians want to remain in perpetual poverty or they save themselves. It is about Nigerians themselves,” he told the PUNCH in an interview.
Fayose also hinted at the possibility of joining the 2023 presidential race.
Asked who among the PDP presidential aspirants he thinks has the capacity to win the election for the party, he retorted: “I don’t think, because I don’t know whether I’m going to contest. So, if I say somebody has capacity and I come out to say I want to contest, how do I redeem that statement? Tomorrow I may wake up and say I want to be president of Nigeria.
