As the countdown to the July 12, 2025, Local Government elections intensifies, the atmosphere in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA is one of focused optimism and a strong desire for continuity.

Over the past three years, the leadership in Ikosi-Ejinrin has been credited with redefining local governance through visible and inclusive achievements.
From road rehabilitation to the provision of primary health care, support for education, and widespread youth and women empowerment, the transformation has been both broad and deep.
“We’ve seen actual changes in our,communitiesnot just in promises, but in delivery,” a market woman in Igboye remarked.
“Our roads are better, our children have school furniture, and health workers now attend to us in upgraded facilities. This is the kind of leadership we want to continue.”
Youths across the LCDA, many of whom have benefited from training and employment initiatives, are equally vocal in their support.
“What we’re experiencing is leadership that listens and acts,” said a beneficiary of a local skills acquisition program. “We want more of this, not less.”
The administration has also received commendations from community elders and traditional leaders who view the past term as a turning point in the LCDA’s development story.
Improved drainage systems, construction of culverts, renovation of schools, and the support for vulnerable groups are cited as key achievements.
A religious leader in one of the wards added, “What we’ve seen over the past few years is governance with empathy and vision.
We can’t afford to lose momentum now. The best decision is to build on this foundation.”
As campaign activities heighten, residents are echoing the call to avoid disruption of ongoing development projects.
For many, the July 12 election is not just another vote, but a decision that will determine whether progress continues or stalls.
