Chukwueze Lists Mikel, Musa As Motivations
A young man who is rated as one of the best footballing prospects in Africa and Europe, Villarreal forward, Samuel Chukwueze, is deflecting attention from himself, saying he is inspired by watching established names.
Chukwueze, who earned an invitation to the Super Eagles team preparing for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, following a number of impressive showings for his Spanish club in the just ended season, said captain John Obi Mikel and Ahmed Musa inspire him as they turn out for Nigeria.
Having made his international debut against Uganda in a friendly game, the 20-year-old, who is said to be a target of Liverpool, stands as one Nigeria’s youngest players, with Victor Osimhen and goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho.
“When I was young, I used to watch Mikel Obi and Ahmed Musa; 2010 and 2014 World Cup. They always motivate me,” Chukwueze told journalists.
“Now it is a dream come true, they always motivate me to keep working hard so I can reach my potential,” he added.
