Ekohotblog reports that Staff and Students representatives from CEDEC International Schools, led by Principal Mrs. Caroline Mbabie, visited the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, at his office In preparation for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
During the visit, the students had the opportunity to ask Hon. Olowa for the roles and responsibilities of local government.

The Executive Chairman was excited to see the students asking such an intelligent question and said, “It’s great to see young people interested in how their government works. You are the future leaders of our community.”
He encouraged them to be good ambassadors.
“Studying, discipline, and hard work are the keys to success in life.”he said
A guard of honor was set up by the school brigade, and eight band member played the National Anthem to honor Hon. Olowa.
Afterward, he took the students on a tour to see the Council Secretariat, showing them important projects like the “KekeJaja” tricycles for garbage collection, the new Secretariat building, and the legislative building.
“This tour helps you understand what we do in local government,” Hon. Olowa said. “I hope you see how we are working for you and our community.”
Also in attendance were the Supervisor for Education, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan; Supervisor for Health, Hon. Tajudeen Oniwonlu; Chief of Staff, Mr. Issa Moruf Olayinka; School Superintendent, Mrs. Victoria Meorah; Chief Examination Officer, Ms. Olajumoke Olaniyi; and Chairperson of the CEDEC Disciplinary Committee, Mr. Mathew Aliu.
