Insecurity: PDP Reps To Invoke Impeachment Clause Against Buhari

In the face of worsening insecurity, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House of Representatives has announced plans to initiate impeachment proceedings against of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kingsley Chinda, leader of the caucus, announced the development at a press conference in Abuja.

Chinda said the move is spurred by the recent abduction of students by bandits in Kastina state.

Other members of PDP caucus were also present at the press conference.

According to Chinda: “The president should be impeached over the growing insecurity in the country.”

Eko Hot Blog had reported how over 300 students were abducted when bandits attacked the Government Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Boko Haram, however, claimed responsibility for the attack. The terrorist group on Thursday also released a video claiming it has custody of the abducted students.

But the governor of Kastina state, on Thursday evening, in a televised interview, said the boys had been released and would soon be reunited with their parents.
