IPOB Uncovers Ten Mkpuru Mmiri Factories in Imo State

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared its intention to identify and eliminate the producers and distributors of Crystal Meth, known locally as Mkpuru Mmiri, in the Southeast region.

In a statement on Friday, IPOB condemned the production and distribution of this harmful drug, particularly in Umuaka, Orlu Province, Imo State.

IPOB spokesman Emma Powerful revealed that their intelligence unit has uncovered approximately ten factories manufacturing Crystal Meth in Umuaka.

Powerful’s statement read: “The Directorate of State of IPOB has become aware of the illicit drug manufacturing operations occurring in Umuaka, Orlu Province, which are being shielded by the Nigerian government and its security agencies.

EDITOR’S PICKS

“Our intelligence unit has identified around ten factories producing dangerous drugs, referred to as Crystal Meth or Mkpurummiri, located in Umuaka. These operations have been established by six individuals from the Umuaka community who returned from South Africa, aiming to undermine Igbo youth by bringing their drug trade back to Alaigbo.

“These notorious dealers, who also own hotels and nightclubs in Owerri, Imo State, utilize these venues to distribute their illicit drugs to other regions, including Lagos, Kano, Rivers State (Port Harcourt), Abuja, and beyond.

“The violent crimes occurring in Orlu Province are not related to the Biafran independence struggle. Some of these criminals falsely claim to advocate for Biafra while merely engaging in drug trafficking.

Mkpuru Mmiri

“Regrettably, these operations occur under the protection of both the Nigerian and Imo State governments, along with their security forces. The Orlu area has the highest concentration of military and police presence in Imo State, deployed to safeguard these drug manufacturing and distribution activities.

“It is evident that federal and state governments, as well as security forces, are either co-owners of these Crystal Meth factories or beneficiaries of the profits from drug sales. It is implausible that such operations could exist in an over-militarized zone like Orlu without the knowledge and support of the authorities.

“With this press release, IPOB warns all involved in the production and distribution of Mkpurummiri in Orlu and elsewhere in Alaigbo to cease their activities immediately. We have the identities of those involved and their accomplices.

“Failure to comply with this warning will result in IPOB publicly disclosing their identities and taking measures to terminate their illicit drug operations.

“IPOB advocates for legitimate Biafran businesses and investments, not for criminal activities such as the production of Mkpurummiri.”
