Eko Hot Blog reports that as the conflict between Israel and Hamas continues, both sides have reported the capture of fighters.
So far, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari stated that they are holding “dozens” of Palestinian fighters in captivity. However, specific figures were not provided.
Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida announced that their fighters had taken “dozens” of Israeli soldiers captive. However, he did not specify the exact number of captives. These captives are reportedly being held in secure locations and tunnels.
Israel’s military has confirmed that Hamas fighters are holding captives in at least two different locations in southern Israel. While they mentioned that two situations have been “resolved,” it remains unclear whether all the captives have been successfully rescued alive.
Hamas deputy chief Saleh al-Arouri had previously informed Al Jazeera that these captives might be used for future prisoner exchanges. The situation continues to develop, and updates are expected as negotiations progress.
