Jilted boyfriend that set family of 8 ablaze confesses:She aborted 4-month pregnancy after her family turned me to ATM
A jilted boyfriend and an ex-convict, Deji Adenuga, who set a one-room apartment ablaze, killing his former girlfriend’s family of eight in Okitipupa area of Ondo State, gave reasons for his action yesterday.
The suspect, who equally reportedly murdered his first wife identified as Abiye in year 2000, was paraded by the state police command in Akure, the state capital, after he was arrested in ljebu-Ode, Ogun State.
He set ablaze the one room, where the family of his estranged girlfriend, Titi Sanumi, reside at Igbodigo in Okitipupa council area of the state, at 2a.m., when they were fast asleep.
The suspect who said he is a palm wine tapper and operated a car wash in Okitipupa, said his estranged girlfriend of over two years aborted a four months old pregnancy without his consent and failed to refund N55,000 kept in her custody.
He added: “Apart from that she and her family, especially her elder sister Jumoke, turned me to Automated Teller Machine(ATM). She collects money from me every other day for one reason or the other to feed her own family.
“Anytime her sister needed money for the upkeep of her family, because the husband is sick, she will recall her sister who is my girlfriend and request I pay her money before releasing her to me.
“I don’t have any regret because they have treated me badly; took a lot of money from me. I also take food items to them almost every week.”
He told newsmen during an interview that he never had the intention of killing all the eight family members.
He said: “All I targeted was my girlfriend and that her sister Jumoke who had turned me to an ATM and yet asked her sister not to marry me. I never knew that all the members of her family would be sleeping in that same room that very day.”
