Former President Goodluck Jonathan was conferred with the title Eze Udo 1 of Nigeria (King of Peace) by the Etche Traditional Rulers Council during the 10th anniversary celebration of HRH Dr. Ken O. Nwala, King of the Etche Kingdom, in Rivers State.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State also received the title Dike Oha 1 of Etche Land (Strong Man or Warrior) during the grand event.

Fubara used the occasion to address his supporters, affirming his dedication to fulfilling his promises. He pledged to complete the Egwi-Afara-Mba road project within six months, emphasizing his commitment to improving the lives of Rivers State citizens.
“I assure you that in six months, we will return here to commission this road,” he stated. “Your support is noted and appreciated. We will ensure that your trust in us is not misplaced.”
The governor also announced a ₦100 million contribution toward completing the Etche King’s palace project. This gesture underscores his administration’s commitment to celebrating and empowering traditional institutions in Rivers State.
Congratulating HRH Dr. Ken O. Nwala on his 10th anniversary as King of the Etche Kingdom, Fubara highlighted the milestone as a testament to God’s grace. “Your leadership is a blessing. I urge you to continue to guide your people with the fear of God,” he said.
