EKO HOT BLOG reports that the chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has disclosed that Egypt has finally opened its border for Nigerian students to be evacuated from Sudan.
The Commission in a statement on Monday stated that the Egyptian authorities opened the border after President Muhammadu Buhari spoke with Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Egyptian president.

According to Dabiri, the processing of evacuees by the Nigerian Embassy in Egypt will begin soon. However, those seeking to enter Egypt must meet certain conditions that have been put in place.
These include providing details and schedules of the aircraft, the capacity of the plane, a firm pledge that once the citizens depart the border, they will be conveyed directly to the designated airport, a comprehensive list of the evacuees with passport numbers, valid travel documents such as passports, and the presence of Nigerian government officials at the points of evacuation.
