JUST IN: Pandemonium As Security Operative Shoots Okada Rider In Delta
- There was pandemonium in Delta State on Thursday over the alleged killing of an Okara rider by a security operative.
There was pandemonium in Delta State on Thursday as a security operative reportedly killed a commercial motorcyclist.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the motorcycle rider was shot dead by the security operative along Orhuwhorun Road in the Udu Council Area of the state in the early hours of Thursday.
Following the shooting, an angry mob in the area immediately set the police vehicle ablaze.
Some eyewitnesses disclosed that the Okada rider was shot dead by a policeman over N100 illegal charge while some other reports claim that the victim was shot dead by a vigilante operative working with the police.

EKO HOT BLOG, however, gathered that policemen and vigilante operatives, on daily basis, mount the spot, demanding the said sum from commercial motorcyclists and tricyclists who ply the route.
“A policeman just shot one Okada man at Free Indeed Junction. The police vehicle is burning right now. The Okada men are protesting here. The corpse has been taken to the Ovwian police station,” a source said.
The incident has caused serious tension among residents of the area as there was a heavy presence of military officers at the Udu Express Junction which leads to the police station.
