Kano Fire: Over 50 Cattle Dead, Homes Burnt in Danbatta

At least 50 cattle perished, and multiple homes were destroyed in a fire outbreak at Danzago village, Danbatta LGA, Kano State.
EKO HOT BLOG reported that according to Fire Service spokesperson Saminu Yusuf, the fire broke out on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:48 a.m.
The Danbatta branch received an emergency call from Abdurashid Sha’aibu, who reported the incident.

Upon arrival at 11:22 a.m., firefighters found Gidan Ado Yubai, a 17-room family house with a store, engulfed in flames. The blaze also affected 2 cows, 36 sheep, 17 goats, 10 chickens, and 19 local food storage units (Rumbu).
The fire further spread to another residence, Gidan Ibrahim Mai Gariyo, consuming multiple rooms, one local food storage unit, 8 sheep, and 3 goats.

Firefighters managed to rescue two sheep, four cows, and three local storage animals while preventing the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
One firefighter sustained burns during the operation, and authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
